I picked the name Emily because I really like it. Emily was a saint born in Rodez, France 1787. She is known as Emily de Rodat. She became a teacher when she was eighteen. When Emily was teaching she realised how many poor children couldn’t go to school because they didn’t have enough money so then she decided to open up a school for poor children with free charge. Soon Emily started caring for unfortunate woman, orphans and the elderly. At the time of her death Emily had opened 38 charitable institutions. She died from cancer in 1852. St. Emily was canonized in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. Her feast day is on September the 19th.
