The people in our group and our company name:
The people in my group were me, Amy, Barry, Cian and Deirbhile. Our company’s name was originally going to be called ABCD Productions because if you look at all of our names above in red you will see that the order of the first letters in each of our names in ABCD and Amy and I were going to share the A. Then Deirbhile and I thought that maybe it would be better if we changed it to something like: LCA Productions which the LCA stands for Lights, Camera, Action. We both thought that the third class (who were coming to watch our movies) would think it sounded a bit to babyish so then we all agreed to change it to LCA Productions.
All of our jobs:
Some teams had six people but our team only had five. Each team had six jobs so one person in our company had to do two. Barry was the one in our group who offered to do two so he was the VP of Finance who had to add up all of our money and he was also the VP of Production who makes the movie on line. By the way ”VP” stands for Vice Presidant. Amy was the VP of Design who helps the VP of Production (Barry) on the script. Cian was the VP of Sales who tries to sell tickets to the movie and. I was the VP of Marketing who designs the poster and does the commercial and stuff like that but of course with help from my team. Deirbhile was the Executive Producer who makes sure that everything is going smoothly and everyone is doing their jobs correctly.
On the first day of the workshop we were learning about how to make the movie and how to persuade people to buy our tickets and stuff and much more. On the second day we had to finish our movie and our posters and stuff.
Our movie was called Cowardly because it was about the guy who was a coward and he was afraid of little stuff like spiders and frogs and stuff like that. In our movie we had to have two scenes and the first scene in our movie was a spooky scene and the second one was a scene of a little wooden room. Our movie was a mixture of comedy, horror and adventure so it would suite everyones taste. In the end I think the first class really liked our movie.
The day the third class came in:
The day of the display thing was really fun. Deirbhile, Amy and I all designed our poster for it to advertise our movie. Our poster turned out quite good. In our commercial we made it about 30 seconds and Deirbhile and I were the only ones who wanted to do it and we did a really good job. In our commercial we had loads of drama and personally I think ours was the best one and so did Nicola. The day before all of this Nicola told us all to bring in merchandising. I baked chocolate chip cookies but they got burnt so I woke up early the next morning and quickly baked shortbread cookies. Deirbhile baked chocolate fudge brownies. When the third class came in they all got 20 biz bucks which were the money we used for all of this. They all got to go around to different stalls and buy tickets for the movies and buy baked goods. One stall had a lucky dip which I thought was a really good idea.
After their time was up they all sat down on the floor and each of our teams had to say how many tickets they sold. The winning team sold 11 tickets and in second place the team sold 10 tickets. Our team came third with a total of eight tickets. The winning team got to show their movie first and we had enough time to show all of the movies after. The team who made the most money was the same team who sold the most tickets and our team made the second most amount of money which was 183 biz bucks. At the end of the day Nicola gave out certificates . I found all of this a great experience.
Two people from each team had to go to the Venture Capitalist. We went to the Venture Capitalist before all of the movie and ticket things. Deirbhile and I went to the Venture Capitalist for our team and we did really well and sold four shares for 47 biz bucks. WE needed the 47 biz bucks for the movie and the advertisement. The Venture Capitalist was our principle and after the event he told us that Deirbhile and I were very professional which we liked to hear!
I loved this project and I give it 10 out of 10!
If I was to give some advice to people it would be: Enjoy it, be enthusiastic, listen and have loads of fun!
Thank You BizWorld!!!!!!!!!!!!
